Due to the wide use of social media online hate speech is spreading in the cyber space.

The Provincial Department of Education has launched a special project called HATEFreeCP with the aid of the UNICEF.
The initial stage covers 52 schools within the province which will build teams within the schools to spread the message and aware others.

Our History
The building of Department of education was established in 1956. As a result of Sri Lanka and New Zealand bilateral project the building was donated. At the beginning it was built for Kandy Technical College and later in 1965 it was handed over to Department of Education. In 1972 the building was used for Multi Technical institute. As a result of establishment of Provincial Council, the building was used for Provincial Department of Education –Central Province.
